THE IDEA
Here’s what you need to know.
ChatGPT does not literally pay you for your life experience, but it can help turn what you know into a product worth testing. Your hobbies, repeated frustrations, and awkward daily workarounds contain problems that other people may share. Use this sequence to find one, validate the demand, build a focused first version with Sites, and create a practical launch plan. A target such as $300 a day is a hypothesis, not a guaranteed result. Real demand and paid conversions are the test.

PUT IT INTO PRACTICE
Follow the steps.
Tick off each step as you go. Your progress is saved on this browser.
- STEP 01
Sites is currently a public beta for eligible Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, and Edu plans. It is not available on Free or Go, and access can depend on your region, rollout, workspace settings, and current usage limits. Open Sites from More > Sites or mention @Sites in ChatGPT to check your account before planning around it.
- STEP 02
Open ChatGPT Work and use voice dictation if you prefer speaking. Answer every question with specific examples. ChatGPT Voice supports a live conversation, while dictation simply turns your speech into prompt text before you send it. Specific frustrations produce better ideas than broad interests.
Interview me one question at a time about my hobbies, skills, ideas, work experience, repeated frustrations, and the daily problems I deal with. Keep asking until you understand what I know unusually well and which problems I can describe from firsthand experience. Then give me one focused app idea I could realistically sell. Explain the target user, painful problem, current alternative, why someone would pay, and the smallest useful version I could launch.
- STEP 03
Make ChatGPT challenge the idea before any code is written. The goal is to find the cheapest evidence that somebody cares.
Challenge this app idea before we build it. List the three biggest reasons it could fail, the riskiest assumption, five real alternatives a customer could use instead, and the fastest test I can run in 48 hours. Finish with a clear build, change, or reject recommendation.
- STEP 04
Stay in the same chat so ChatGPT retains the interview, chosen customer, and validation plan.
Build the full plan for this app. Define the core user journey, every screen, the smallest launch feature set, what the backend must store, any sign-in or upload requirements, the pricing hypothesis, and what should wait until after the first users. Explain how the frontend, backend, database, authentication, and any external services fit together. Keep version one small enough to test quickly.
- STEP 05
Mention @Sites explicitly. Ask for a focused version one, not every future feature. Sites can provide durable structured storage with D1 and file storage with R2 when the experience genuinely needs them. Keep the preview private while you test the important flows.
@Sites Build this app from the approved version-one plan. Use a clean mobile-first design, implement the complete core user journey, and add persistent data, uploads, or sign-in only where the experience requires them. Test every important interaction on mobile and desktop and fix anything broken. Save a private version for me to review. Do not deploy or change its audience yet. Give me a short checklist of anything I should verify manually.
- STEP 06
Every Sites deployment URL is a production deployment. Review the content, forms, links, data handling, sign-in behavior, and mobile experience first. When the saved version is ready, deploy it and choose the narrowest audience that fits your test.
Deploy the saved version I just approved with Sites. Keep the access limited to [ONLY ME / INVITED TESTERS / MY WORKSPACE / ANYONE ON THE INTERNET]. Confirm the deployment succeeded, give me the production URL, and list the final checks you completed. Do not expose secrets, confidential files, private source data, payment-card data, or protected health information.
- STEP 07
A live app is not distribution. Ask for a launch plan built around the exact customer and problem from the interview.
Give me the exact strategy to get my first 100 people to sign up. Identify where this target customer already spends time, write three organic content angles, three direct outreach messages, one simple referral loop, and a seven-day launch schedule. Give me one measurable daily target and tell me what result would prove the idea deserves another week.
A FEW THINGS THAT HELP
Get more out of it.
- Start with a problem you understand firsthand. Access to the customer matters more than novelty.
- Do not build ten features before testing the core promise with real people.
- Sites is a paid-plan public beta. Availability, limits, public sharing, and supported features can vary by account, region, rollout, and workspace policy.
- Review the generated app before publishing, especially forms, uploads, private data, and sign-in behavior.
- A launch plan is not revenue. Track conversations, sign-ups, activation, and paid conversions separately.
- ChatGPT Sites does not support every framework, private network, database, background service, hosting pattern, or payment workflow. Use another service when the product needs unsupported infrastructure.
